Worship the Creator God

Today as I write this post, it is Earth Day. It is also the first really nice Spring day we have had in our area so far this year. All creation has seemed to come alive on this gloriously sunny Sunday! As I consider Earth Day, however, my mind cannot help but turn toward the Creator of this beautiful world and the universe beyond. When I stop to consider the amazing beauty of creation, I must acknowledge the One who started it all.

“In the beginning, God created the heavens and the earth.”  (Genesis 1:1, ESV)

God has revealed Himself to us through His creation.

“When I look at your heavens, the work of your fingers, the moon and the stars, which you have set in place, what is man that you are mindful of him, and the son of man that you care for him?” (Psalm 8:3-4, ESV)

“The heavens declare the glory of God, and the sky above proclaims his handiwork.”  (Psalm 19:1, ESV)

It stirs within me the desire to worship God, the Creator of all such amazing things in, of and on the earth: the intricate details on a butterfly wing, the power of an ocean wave, the beauty of a waterfall, and the wide variety of unique plants and animals found in the most remote places on the planet! Everywhere you look, God is there…through His handiwork, He has left the mark of His presence, His existence in our lives.

“For his invisible attributes, namely, his eternal power and divine nature, have been clearly perceived, ever since the creation of the world, in the things that have been made.” (Romans 1:20a, ESV)

Our response?

“All the ends of the earth shall remember and turn to the LORD, and all the families of the nations shall worship before you.” (Psalm 22:27, ESV)

“All the nations you have made shall come and worship before you, O Lord, and shall glorify your name.” (Psalm 86:9, ESV)

Would you join me today in worshiping our great Creator God?
